The GALERIE HANDLOWE [Shopping Centres] Magazine includes interviews with the leaders of the RETAIL industry. Among our interviewees were, inter alia, the leading representatives of retail networks, such as: dr. Thomas Shroeder, Director of Brand Expansion at Orsay; Krzysztof Friday, President of Neckermann Poland; Agnieszka Mosurek-Zava, President of Douglas Poland; Gilles Dougoud, CEO of Sephora Poland; Johan Aberg, CEO of KappAhl, as well as the designers – Natasha Pavluczenko or Lidia Kalita, and many other famous people who care about the image and development of the largest brands on the Polish market:

Promotion of key events

The magazine also published articles describing the development activities of the most important operators in the trade and commercial properties sector. Information about modernisation of commercial facilities, conclusion of new lease agreements, launch of new products or assets of franchise collaboration—these are some of the reasons for communication in the industry.

As a result of the restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic, malls have seen lower visitation and sales rates in 2020. While some stores were able to operate virtually throughout the lockdown period there are industries that have been, are being and will continue to be negatively impacted by the restrictions for a long time to come. Their business also has a huge impact on the operation of the entire facility. Because of the coronavirus, according to Media4Fun, viewers’ interest in cinema offerings is waning in favor of other forms of distribution – such as VoD platforms. And while in recent years the role of shopping centers has increasingly been based on the social function, rather than just commercial, it seems that the construction of customer awareness will have to start its journey anew. We ask industry experts, among other things, whether and how the entertainment offer of shopping centers will change in the context of the current market situation; what will shopping centers attract customers with in 2021; and how will they rebuild footfall and sales levels to achieve pre-pandemic results?
